Don Mann: Focusing on my Craft

Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 - 5:03 p.m.

Packaged for mass consumption

mechanically processed interruptions

I'd make you something to remind you of me

instead I'll pick you up something on my next shopping spree

Everyone runs, flies or scurries

The technology we embraced to bring together our hearts

Won't return the embrace when we've fallen apart

We pave the path to suffering with each new invention

~~

Accepting everything I was given with a smile

Our parents pressed into our palms the shiny token for damnation

Never telling us which slot to put it in, expecting our appreciation

~~

I know what I've done with all I've learned

I know what I'll do when it comes to my turn

I'll throw myself into the gears and like a martyr be ground

I'll gladly accept my choice of destruction without a sound

Delve Into The Past - Onward Into The Future
