Don Mann: Focusing on my Craft

Tuesday, Jul. 27, 2004 - 12:23 a.m.

There was a red truck parked on the corner of Pearl and Bridge street. I only knew it was red based on what little paint remained exposed from behind a mass of bumper stickers cluttering up the back of it, maybe the red was just rust. Most of the stickers were highly christian anti-sin anti-abortion anti-pollution ads (Obviously the driver felt these were an excellent way to express his character) which exclaimed in bold or extravagant letters the corniest jokes or catch phrases possible. The one sticker which caught my attention, however, was a green one on the bottom right of the bumper, which exclaimed "The Earth Is Not Your Ashtray! Hold On to Your Butts!"

I went back to my truck, grabbed the ashtray, walked over to the driver side of the red pickup, and dumped it all over the fucker's seat.
